BotanicWise was founded by Charis Lindrooth with the intention of providing a forum where plant wisdom can be shared and where like-minded people can connect and build a community to steward land, medicinal plants, and supportive relationships with each other. Inspired by the work of Rosemary Gladstar, David Winston, United Plant Savers, and many internationally acclaimed teachers and organizations in the herbal renaissance, BotanicWise strives to create space for land and plant stewardship, with an inner mission to cultivate alliances between plants and people, and between people and people. We are grateful for all who participate in this expanding green movement that invites perspective on the transformation of modern health and health care in this country.

Hello Reader, What happens when we put our hands in the soil, tend a seed, and watch something small become something more? We grow, too. Plants remind us that growth isn’t a straight line—it unfolds in seasons, with roots reaching deep, new shoots emerging, and unexpected blossoms along the way. At this year’s Gathering, we’ll celebrate the many ways plants nurture our own growth, creativity, wisdom, and connection. So dig in, get your hands dirty, and grow alongside a vibrant community of women who love plants as much as you do. The weather forecast is beautiful, and I’m excited to see you this weekend! To help you plan, here is a quick summary of some logistics to remember...🌿 Our venue is the Kempton Community Center, located at 83 Community Center Drive, Kempton, PA 19529 🌿 Friday Registration is 12-2 PM. Classes begin on Friday at 2:00 PM. 🌿 Kat Maier will keynote, Friday at 6:00 PM: Women as Entheogens 🌿 The Fire Circle will follow after the keynote, Friday, 7:30 PM 🌿 Sat night at 7 PM: Creatives Trading Corner - Bring your arts and crafts to barter (no monetary exchanges allowed), followed by the Masquerade Ball - dress up and dance! 🌿 For Saturday-only participants: Saturday Registration begins at 8 AM. You only need to register once! No need to bring a printout of your registration. 🌿 Saturday Opening Circle begins at 9:30 AM in Oak Hall. 🌿 Campers will be directed to the camping area to unload, then move their cars to the main parking area. Commuters will park in the main parking area. 🌿 Shopping from vendors will be open Friday afternoon through Sunday. 🌿 We have a new outside food vendor this year—they will be there Friday and Saturday only. If you did not purchase a meal on Sunday, please plan ahead and bring your own food. 🌿 Check out the entire Schedule here. Tea bags, not bulk, please) ✅ Your own tea mug and water bottle, labeled. Paper cups will be available—please use them respectfully. ✅ Clothing layers for hot afternoons and cool evenings/mornings. Footwear for tramping in nature. Rain protection - just in case! ✅ Masquerade Ball outfit (mask-making supplies will be available) ✅ Campers - a hammer for your tent stakes. Cozy stuff for chilly nights. Potable water and real bathrooms are available. No showers. There’s plenty of space to spread out or car camp. All are welcome to set up tents under the lower pavilion for rain protection! ✅ Rent-A-Tents: (still a few available!) Remember, air mattresses don’t hold heat well, so bring lots of cozy bedding for under you and on top. Your tents will be labeled - look for the sign with your name on it! Please move your vehicle to the main parking area after unloading. ✅ Notebook and pen ✅ $$ Cash for shopping and raffle tickets!! Let's support the hardworking vendors. This is a good time to plan ahead for gifts. Save yourself a trip to the mall! ✅ If you want, please bring a drum/instrument to the Fire Circle on Friday night. ✅ Item for the Remembrance Altar. If you would like to honor a woman who has mentored you, loved you, or inspired you, bring a token to place on the altar (in the Tea Temple). You can add your prayers to our Prayer Flag chain - also in the Tea Temple. I can't wait to see all of you!
