Emily Ruff's Full Moon Wisdom 🌕

Hello Reader,

First things first…remember to register for the BotanicWise Women’s Gathering by August 1 (Saturday) for the best savings!

Now I want to share an excerpt from Emily Ruff’s Moon Medicine Newsletter. Emily is a featured teacher at this year’s Gathering…

This week’s full moon in Aquarius...

is one of the most charged lunations of the year. If the summer has felt unusually intense, significant, and like something large is shifting beneath ordinary life, it's no surprise - and this Full Moon is a big part of that.
This Full Moon is asking…
🌕 Where have you shrunk your authentic expression to stay safe inside a group?
🌕 Where have you protected your individual flame so fiercely that you have cut yourself off from the warmth of genuine belonging?
Both contractions are forms of loss. This week’s sky wants to illuminate them honestly.
Pluto at the Moon's side
The Moon sits in conjunction with Pluto, the planet of irreversible transformation, the force that clears what has outlived its usefulness, whether we are ready to release it or not. Alongside the Full Moon, this creates a sense of depth and consequence that differs from an ordinary lunation.
What surfaces under this sky may surprise you.
🌕 Old grief around belonging, around being truly seen, around the places you have contorted yourself to fit in, has roots that go deep. This Full Moon offers real light for examining them.
🌕 Pluto is also the force of genuine renewal. What releases now creates room. What comes clear, even if it is uncomfortable, is a gift.
What you are being called toward under this Full Moon is not just this week's work. The themes of authentic creative expression, genuine belonging, individual sovereignty within community, and the courage to contribute your particular gifts to a world that needs them will be alive and active for the next eighteen months.
You don't have to have it all figured out; you just have to be honest about what this Full Moon is showing you.
What this sky is asking:
This is not a time to force outcomes or manufacture conclusions. It is a time to be alert, receptive, and willing to hold what is genuinely changing without rushing to resolve it.
Tend your body, and especially your nervous system. This much intensity moving through the sky at once is genuinely a lot for a nervous system to carry. Make your nervine teas. Keep Rescue Remedy nearby. Let yourself move slowly through a week that is carrying significant weight.
A few reflections to sit with at this Full Moon:
✨ Where have you been making yourself smaller to belong somewhere? Is that arrangement still worth it?
✨ What would it mean to offer your creative gifts without waiting until they are perfect?
✨ Who do you belong to — and do those people know it?
✨ What is ready to be released so that something more genuinely you can take its place?
✨ What community or collective vision is calling you toward it right now?

In the spirit of community, I hope you will bring your gifts and the guidance of the extraordinary sky, and join us in person at the BotanicWise Women’s Gathering, September 18-20.

Register by August 1 and save $30 on your weekend pass!

P.S. from Emily:

Mark your calendar for August 12–13 for the Perseids.

💫 This year's conditions are exceptional, with the New Moon on August 12 leaving completely dark skies at peak. Up to 100 meteors per hour will be seen under ideal conditions, so it's worth taking time to begin planning now.
💫 Two weeks from now, the Total Solar Eclipse in Leo arrives on August 12, marking one of the most significant astrological events of the year. To mark the occasion, I am opening enrollment for a pop-up eclipse course beginning August 10: The Fertile Shadow: Sowing Intention in the Dark of the Eclipse. This container will guide us through eclipse season with daily support and a live integration call, meeting the darkness consciously, planting what we want to grow in the light that follows. Join the waitlist here to be first to hear when enrollment opens.

BotanicWise

BotanicWise was founded by Charis Lindrooth with the intention of providing a forum where plant wisdom can be shared and where like-minded people can connect and build a community to steward land, medicinal plants, and supportive relationships with each other. Inspired by the work of Rosemary Gladstar, David Winston, United Plant Savers, and many internationally acclaimed teachers and organizations in the herbal renaissance, BotanicWise strives to create space for land and plant stewardship, with an inner mission to cultivate alliances between plants and people, and between people and people. We are grateful for all who participate in this expanding green movement that invites perspective on the transformation of modern health and health care in this country.

That’s when I decided to host a nature-inspired masquerade ball at this year’s BotanicWise Women’s Gathering! The preparation is the best part! You can dress up, or down, but you must have a mask. There will be a mask-making station at the event, but why...
